The latest intimate distribution is only available using the beta-installer script. The beta-installer script will fetch the absolute latest versions of the base image via rsync and all the latest .deb packages needed to build a fully functional distribution.Installation instructions are here.

Alternatively, if you're installing via NFS or need some offline version to install, you can grab intimate20011113.tar.bz2 which is a tarred up copy of the intimate image, directly after instalation. (You will have to generate your own ssh keys and configure your network settings in /etc/network/interfaces manually. These steps will not be performed automatically)

The intimate base is available only via rsync until release from rsync://intimate.handhelds.org/intimate-beta, but you need additional packages to make a complete image.

Installer Utils

There are three utilties used within the installer script that have been custom written by spse@secret.org.uk

Sources and binaries for the respective utils are available below. (Don't expect anyone to write any docs tho')

vol - Util to control the ipaq's volume from the command line... does fading too.

pnmtofb - Take a .pnm image, and display it on the framebuffer.

ipaqbb - Util to check and set the bootloader params.
